Head upstairs and the place opens up. Big windows look out over the Shannon. Old photographs of Carrick-on-Shannon from the early 1900s hang on the walls. There's a fireplace that actually works. Grab a coffee and a slice of apple tart, take a seat by the window, and watch the boats pass under the bridge. There's no rush.
